I am Cancer Free!!!!

I found out today at my doctor's appointment that they got all of the cancer out!! I am so excited and thankful that I do not have to do any chemo or radiation either. He said that it was deep but not too deep to have to go ahead with taking the lymph nodes out and chemo. Praise God!!! Thank you everyone for all of your prayers! I will have to go to the dermatologist every 3 months for the next five years to make sure it doesn't come back and to make sure I don't have cancer anywhere else. But we were very excited with the great news today!

Thanksgiving 2009!

Ryder's first Thanksgiving was a great success! We all had a lot of fun at my parents new house just hanging out and getting to see everyone. Sad to say Eric and I were the only ones that had to go back to work on Friday, but we had a great time here are some pictures!

Ryder is 3 Months Old!

I can't believe how fast the time has gone! When I was pregnant EVERY single person was like "time will go by fast" yada yada yada I was like ok whatever.....but THE TIME FLY'S!! it really does... I feel like just yesterday Eric and I were in our hospital room at midnight just talking about how excited we were and hoping we could raise a child..and so far so good!

This is what Ryder has been up to this month:

* You are definetly over 10 pounds... were guessing 11ish pounds

*You are definetly longer maybe somewhere around 23 inches

*You are still mostly in newborn pants some 0-3

*You are wearing mostly 0-3 tops some 3-6

*You have a big "Budha Belly" as daddy calls it but your arms and legs are super skinny!

*You had your first trip to the ER and are doing super!

*You are talking and talking and talking non stop! Just like your mommy! :)

*You LOVE Mickey Mouse Clubhouse

*Your all time favorite toy is the one from the HAYNIES! :) You would sit in that thing forever if we would let you and just watch the bubbles.

*You are starting to giggle just a little but I can't wait until you full out laugh!

*You just started holding your "puppy" real tight to you like you love him ...a gift from your cousin addison

*MAJOR MILESTONE....YOU ROLLED OVER!

*You have learned how to blow bubbles and stick out your tongue

*You hardly ever stop smiling unless mommy whips out the camera..then they automatically stop! :(

WE LOVE LOVE LOVE YOU!

Surgery...and Roly Poly

I am not feeling so great today..I kind of feel like I was hit by a car! I am just real achy all over and my throat is still hurting from the breathing tube... the surgery went really well and they got it all out of my skin, however they are "freezing" it and sending it to the lab so we won't know for 10-14 days if it had already spread. So were still praying and hoping for the best and that the surgery was the last we have to worry about the cancer. I did have a near death experience although my oh so supportive family thinks I was "dreaming".... When I was in recovery I couldn't open my eyes yet just from the medicine but I was trying to catch my breath and then I just remember it felt like I had gone back to sleep and when I woke up they said that I had stopped breathing and turned blue! So they had to put the breathing tube back in...but a short while later I woke up again and they said I was doing much better and my color had returned. They took about 3 inches out and stitched up underneath my skin and then glued the top together. Thanks for every ones prayers!....AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST... I got a phone call on Thursday from Bethany (his babysitter) and he has officially started rolling over!! He's been rolling over at home the last few days but every time I whip out the camera it immediately stops! :( but whenever I can catch it I'll post it!

On Another Note...

Ryder and I had a FABULOUS day today...it consisted mostly of doing laundry and watching mickey mouse clubhouse on demand almost ALL day...I know he shouldn't watch tv but it is just TOO cute when he smiles and coos at mickey's voice....This is what Ryder did most of the morning while we watched his favorite show...

THEN I wanted to run to Old Navy real quick and put him in his new outfit thanks to NANA! :)and Ryder did his "new" thing....THROW A TANTRUM...everytime he doesn't want to sit somewhere, lay somewhere, or get in his carseat he arches his back and starts to scream..I just HAD to get a picture...isn't it kind of cute?! and look at that outfit isn't it to die for?

After I picked him up and explained to him that, that is NOT the way we act when we don't get what we want...and a few little kisses he calmed down...but he was NOT in the mood for smiling...so here are some pictures of us

Surgery on Friday

The "Tumour Board" decided for me to go ahead and have surgery on Friday. They are going to start by cutting all around the initial spot until the "edges" are clean (cancer free) and if they run into anything that looks like it has spread then they will deal with that then too. So as of now it looks like an out-patient surgery, but we won't know until they can see if it has spread to other places in my body. So keep praying for wisdom for the doctors on Friday and for it to not have spread. Thanks so much everybody for all of the prayers!

Still Waiting....

I got a phone call from the doctor today letting us know that it is still undecided whether or not it has spread. The second pathologist looked at it and still couldn't make a decision if it had spread or not. The doctor is presenting my biopsy to the "Tumor Board" tomorrow morning. The tumor board is a group of doctors that get together on Tuesday, and Thursday of every week and all discuss each others patients that have unclear diagnosis' or patients that they just want a second opinion about. They said I should know for sure by Thursday morning. Please just continue to pray that it hasn't spread, the waiting is worse than finding out that I had cancer to begin with. Everyone has been so supportive and thank you for your prayers!

Cancer might have spread

So Eric and I thought we were meeting with the surgeon today to talk about the surgeory and schedule it. WELL it was another story...we got their and the surgeon let us know that the pathology results (lab work) wasn't quite 100% sure it was just a level 2....now they think it could have gotten into my bloodstream and to my lymph nodes. Hopefully we will find out before Monday. He said he didn't know one way or the other. If it is in my lymph nodes I will have to have them removed, and have chemo and radiation. If it isn't, then all I have to do is have surgeory to remove the rest of the tissue that has melanoma in it and thats it besides regular check ups. So please pray that it is just in the beginning stages and hasn't gone farther!

Cancer

I had a freckle on my chest that just appeared when I was pregnant, but I didn't think anything of it because your skin changes color alot when your pregnant. Well a few weeks ago I noticed it had turned red, so I went to the doctor and she said it could be pre-cancer but she didn't suspect cancer. Well I got a phone call today asking me to come in and sit down and discuss my biopsy with my doctor. And it turned out to be very bad news. I have stage 2 melonoma cancer. They don't believe it has spread to my lymph nodes or anywhere yet, but I am meeting with the surgeon tomorrow to go ahead and have surgeory to remove all of the tissue they believe is infected. We will also know for sure that it hasn't spread anywhere else like the lymph nodes. So PLEASE PLEASE keep us in your prayers!!
