Ryder's First Trip and Hopefully Last.. TO THE ER!

Saturday night, my mom was holding Ryder and noticed that his forehead felt hot, and told me to take his temperature. So when I took it it was 101...which if you don't know..if your child is under 3 months old and their temperature is above 100.4 you have to take them to the ER right away. So I called the doctor and of course they said to go straight to the hospital. We hadn't even left my grandparents house before I was balling just at the thought of having to take him.We got to the childrens ER around 8 o'clock and just waited to be called back. Around 11:30 we finally got back to the room and the doctor came in and said they were going to do blood work, and IV, and a chest x-ray because they thought he had menengitis. Well I was freaking out and the lady came in to draw his blood and start the IV and tried 2 times and both times the IV didn't work. Ryder is SCREAMING at this point and the lady said I am going to go get someone else to try. I looked at Eric and said I can't do this if they don't get it in again...little did I know how many times it would take. Then comes 2 people who called themselves the "IV DREAM TEAM" that was a bunch of crap..I was by Ryders head trying to calm him down while they tried and after the 5th time I looked at Eric and said I can't do this and started BALLING..not just crying but BALLING..the guy was like "It's ok mom, he'll be ok" and I wanted to punch him in his face....7 hours later they said it was looking like he doesn't have menengitis and just a bad virus...his white blood cells were high..we won't know until tomorrow after the tests come back to make sure. He also had to get a catheter...yea....AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL night! We got home close to 5 in the morning. I have a couple pictures of our poor little man, but the uploader isn't working.. I will try later...Here is a picture of him today feeling much better thank goodness!

SC State Fair

Grandpa Johnbo and Grandma Neesey came down 2 weekends ago and we had such a great time.. I don't have any pictures of them because I just forgot to take pictures. BUT I did take a few on Eric's phone as we were leaving the fair. Here are some pictures of our cold but fun day at the fair!

Picture Message

This afternoon I recieved a picture message on my phone from the babysitter.... here's the picture

and this is the message: " Ryder threw up this afternoon and all I had brought from home was his bottle! So I had to put him in one of Miranda's (another newborn she watches who is a girl) outfit...you can't tell but if you look close it has flowers on it!"

P.S. I forwarded it to Eric, he wasn't too happy about his "boy" wearing pink :)

First Day Back to Work/First Babysitter Day

Today was my first day back to work, and Ryder's first day with his babysitter Bethany. Eric took him this morning because he is working the late shift and he could spend some time with him in the morning. Which I am so thankful for because I would have lost it...I could barely tell him bye this morning...BUT I had a great day at work it was a breeze compared to staying at home with a newborn regardless of how good they are. It was just a carefree chat with ADULTS day. I got a text from Bethany have way through the day that said everything was great and he was being perfect :) I felt like a proud mom. UNTIL I picked him up after work and she said he screamed bloody murder not long, but she said he was fussy at the end of the day. Then he decided to come home and scream some more this is a picture of what I FINALLY got him to do... Hopefully tomorrow he will get use to being their and the new surroundings and be a perfect little angel :) .... Let's hope so...

First Zoo Trip!

Eric and I took Ryder to the zoo on Friday and he slept almost the ENTIRE time! I can't wait for him to be able to recognize the animals and play. Eric and I had a FABULOUS time though, all of the animals were right up to the fences as you can see by my pictures. The gorilla was our favorite. They were feeding him but throwing his food off of the roof of the building, and HE WOULD CATCH THEM!! I took a little video of it but it was soo neat to see!!

BUMBO

Amanda and Paul let us borrow their bumbo, but I wasn't sure Ryder could really fit in it yet. He has gotten alot better lately with holding his head up so I thought I would try it today and he looked soo cute and SOO grown up!! He looks like a little old man!

We took a cute video of him in it.

Show us Your likes and dislikes baby theme!

This Friday is show us your likes/dislikes of baby products that you have used on Kelly's site!

OUR LIKES:

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the boppy pillow....Ryder takes naps in this sleeps in this at night and loves to sit in it on the couch while I am cleaning and just watch the fan. I think he likes it so much because it kind of hugs his body. It is ALSO great for nursing, I used this alot because it helps hold him while your "preparing yourself" :)

I love our pack-n-play! He sleeps in the boppy in this every night and only wakes up for feedings, HOWEVER next time I will definetly get one with a motorized mobile. Ours you have to move yourself and I honestly think he would live in their if he could watch his monkeys twirl constantly.

We also LOVED the bottle warmer. It was so nice to only take 30 seconds to heat up a bottle in the middle of the night, rather than wait for water to heat up under the bottle and wait another 5 minutes for the water to actually heat up the bottle. I think this is a MUST!

OUR DISLIKES:

I am going to put 2 pictures of bottle brushes on here, this is the kind NOT to get, when you stick the brush in the bottle full of soapy water or even just a wet bottle brush and pull it out THE WATER SLINGS ALL OVER YOU!! how annoying is that

THESE bottle brushes are great and you will NOT get water on you

We also never found a purpose for the wipes warmer. He is going to pee on you whether the wipe is warm or not. We also have a small bedroom for Ryder so this was just wasted space on his shelf. I hope this helps!
